What is Tai Chi?
Put very simply, Tai Chi is an ancient form of exercises that originated in China thousands of years ago. The movements are based on Martial Arts sequences and are done very slowly, with grace and control.

The benefits of this gentle, yet powerful form of exercise are so numerous that I have dedicated separate pages to them on this site. Tai Chi, and Qigong (pronounced “Chi Kung”)is suitable for people of all ages and all levels of agility and fitness.

Also referred to as “moving meditation” practising Tai Chi aids relaxation and brings about a calm and centred emotional state. It helps to decrease anxiety, brings relief from aches and pains, strengthens all of the body’s systems, including those we cannot see or feel such as our endocrine system, balances blood pressure and helps to lubricate joints allowing for increased freedom of movement.
